CRITICAL REFLECTION
Overall, I had a lot of fun with this assignment. It was a new experience for me. It's great to get to know everyone in class, their background, and their area of expertise. Team leadership was also good.I thought the only thing that held this experience back from being really great is the lack of time we have with one another. I basically have only one people that I keep in contact with outside of class and that is, Hiren. It was great working with these guys and I consider them friends, but even with the amount of time we worked and had meeting with one another we still had issues here in there that we couldn't agree on. For example, Hiren and I took a lot of time trying to agree which Communication Services and Databases were better, because we had two. I really had no problems with our differences because that's just simply part of life, but we were so pressed for time that we didn't even have time to civil debate to get our points across. In phase 6, we had a part called 'Class Diagram and Navigation Style', Hiren and I worked on this. He viewed this as providing a diagram, which seems reasonable enough. I viewed this as 'in which style our website navigates which made easy for our visitors'. Again, we really didn't have enough time to debate, the best thing to do was to be decisive, execute, and move on the next one case. One other thing I noticed in the project was it seemed that at first everyone was very careful about making corrections about the contributions of others in Wiki. I think this was due to the fact that we barely know one another except maybe for a couple of guys in class. Another thing I like to mention is, that besides time, that we didn't have much of, it was very difficult communicating with one another through online via email, chat, or Wiki. Some days we really had to talk on the phone or meet face-to-face. I've been involved in big IT project before. The type of projects that require 7 days a week and 14 hours a day. In my experience it really helps to have a meeting at the end of every work day just to get a sense of where everyone is at.Just my humble opinion, a website that involve the public and music download is very ambitious and requires a lot of team togetherness time.I have to congratulate Luis for doing a great job of keeping everyone updated and involved. I also would like to thank him for giving me some crucial parts of the project, like navigation style and communication services so it can provide high availability for users. I felt honored to have been given such responsibilities. I really thought I had something to contribute when it came to securing our project site because it has only been recently, in the place that I'm currently employed, that our website was defaced by SQL injections -- Some guy thought it was funny to UPDATE the product images on our site with pornographic pictures. I learned from that experience and was able to apply my knowledge in this project. It was great to be assigned a task and feel like you're really part of a team that will accomplish something bigger.
